Coinbase 於昨日表示 iOS 更新版本的 Coinbase Wallet 已遭到蘋果封阻，原因出自蘋果主張用戶需要透過內建支付系統來購買 Gas Fee，使蘋果能收取 30% 稅金。如此不合理的行為吸引了 MetaMask 成員的抨擊，表示將與 Coinbase 站在同一陣線。

MetaMask 成員反對蘋果高稅金
MetaMask 共同創辦人 Dan Finlay 於 Twitter 表示：
「我認為 MetaMask 及所有其他錢包將會是下一個 (受限於蘋果政策)，我已準備好拋棄蘋果系統，30% 的稅金是濫用壟斷。」
同時，MetaMask 資深產品經理 Montoya 也諷刺地說道：
「Apple 也要從我的 Apple Wallet 的信用卡交易費用，抽取 30% 稅金嗎?」
對於此事件，Dan Finlay 提及了 Apple 去年與遊戲產業巨頭 Epic Games 的訴訟案，此案對 App Store 添加了新的限制，必須允許 iOS App 將用戶引導至 Apple 提供的支付選擇以外的選項。
因此，Dan Finlay 表示既然加密貨幣是從外部賺取，為何還要對使用加密貨幣進行課稅？
打造一個新的外部稅收服務
對於 Apple 不合理的行為，Dan Finlay 認為是時候打造一個外部稅收預付中繼服務 (External prepay tx relay service)，這樣 Apple 內建支付系統便無法再抽稅。
此服務也可以收取 30% 的稅金，但稅金可以有更好的用途，像是成立一個公開的硬體基金。
同時，Dan Finlay 表示其最近有與 Google 的內部員工聊過，Google 當前正參與上述的生態系統，而此系統將不會與 Apple 一樣，在象牙塔內武斷地進行政策決定。
