美國聯儲局一如市場預期加息 0.75 厘。財政司司長陳茂波見記者時表示，美國通脹率仍然高企，但同時失業率低，預計未來可能仍有進一步加息，本港亦要預備在有關情況下帶來的影響，會否令金融市場持續波動。
他提到，聯儲局稱會繼續觀察加息對經濟及通脹率的影響，但預計會有滯後，日後加息步伐可能放緩，但不能預期會很快停止加息。
香港方面，他指本港 GDP 連續三季收縮，目前經濟面臨不少挑戰，但相信若疫情持續受控及恢復對外往來，經濟將會穩定下來。
