為了讓更廣大的群眾能夠參與加密貨幣市場，國際信用卡公司萬事達卡（Mastercard）宣布推出「Crypto Source」計畫，以協助銀行、金融機構為客戶提供加密貨幣交易服務。
萬事達卡週一表示，已與加密貨幣交易平台 Paxos 建立合作夥伴關係，並將透過新推出的「Crypto Source」計畫，幫助銀行遵守加密貨幣合規規則、驗證交易，以及提供反洗錢和身份監控服務，使銀行處於監管的正確位置，在提供加密貨幣服務時更得心應手。
同時，萬事達卡還將「Crypto Source」與旗下加密貨幣安全計畫「Crypto Secure」結合起來，旨在為加密貨幣生態系統帶來額外的安全性，並支持發卡機構遵守複雜的法規。
具體而言，Paxos 將負責加密貨幣託管和交易服務，而萬事達卡則是充當 Paxos 和銀行之間的「橋樑」，把這些服務整合到銀行的接口中，並負責合規性和安全性，而這兩個因素也是讓銀行對加密貨幣避而遠之的癥結所在。
萬事達卡一項調查發現，全球 29% 的受訪者持有加密貨幣作為投資，另有 65% 的受訪者表示，偏好由自己信任的金融機構提供與加密貨幣相關的服務。萬事達卡數位長 Jorn Lambert 表示：
「很多消費者對加密貨幣非常感興趣，但如果這些服務是由他們的金融機構來提供，他們會更有信心。對某些人來說，這個領域仍然有點可怕。」
萬事達卡將於明年第一季度開始試行該產品，然後在更多地區進行擴張。目前尚未透露與哪些銀行簽約。
萬事達卡近來積極布局加密貨幣領域，今年 6 月宣布將旗下支付網絡擴張到 NFT 市場，讓用戶「直接刷卡就能購買 NFT」，而無需先購買加密貨幣，以解決消費者在購買 NFT 時的痛點。
