本年三月，美國發生價值 300 萬美元加密貨幣盜竊案件。嫌疑犯 Tianze Zhang 後來逃至台灣。兩地警方合作後於高雄逮捕歸案並將其遣返美國。

 

打劫 300 萬美元加密貨幣

舊金山警察局 Facebook 貼文表示，30 歲的嫌疑犯 Tianze Zhang 是華裔洛杉磯公民，於 3 月 16 日星期三下午 5 點 30 分，闖入 Bernal Heights 附近住宅。當時一名成年女性在家報案聲稱，陌生男子進屋後就用膠帶將女子綑綁，限制人身自由，並用刀子折磨她，威脅轉帳價值 300 萬美元的加密貨幣，更將她的手機拿走。舊金山縣高等法院表示，涉及竊盜重罪、綁架搶劫、恐嚇威脅等三項重罪。隨後舊金山警方鎖定追查，發現男子已逃亡至台灣，與台灣刑事局展開跨國合作簽署跨國拘捕令，終於在 5 月 30 日將男子於高雄拘捕到案，已由美方押送回國偵辦。

來台自稱加密貨幣投資顧問

台灣刑事局搜查嫌疑犯 Tianze Zhang 住宅時搜出現金 20 萬餘元，以及用來藏匿加密貨幣用的冷錢包，但無法確定是否存有犯罪用的加密貨幣，已經透過司法互助機制轉交給美方調查。Tianze Zhang 來台後自稱從事加密貨幣投資顧問工作，更上網結交台灣當地女大學研究生。張男於高雄落網時，女研究生也在場，並不知張男在美國曾有犯罪紀錄。
