Tesla 執行長 Elon Musk 的 Twitter 收購案格外引人注目，據彭博社今（6）日報導， Twitter 收購案正可能面臨美國聯邦貿易委員會（FTC）的調查，據消息人士表示，該機構將在下個月的最後期限前，決定是否介入交易案深入審查。

據美國併購法，Elon Musk 必須將併購交易通知 FTC 與司法部，並且在交易完成前至少等待 30 天，以便當局相關單位對潛在的反壟斷進行調查，有必要時 FTC 可以要求更多資訊，甚至發出第二次請求。但彭博社的反壟斷專家稱 Elon Musk 的交易沒有反壟斷方面的擔憂，但還是必須等待 FTC 的調查期結束。

但實際上除了反壟斷以外，FTC 正在調查 Elon Musk 在 3 月時，在未通知 FTC 的情況下購入 9 % Twitter 股份的行為，知情人士表示，在購入 5 % 股份時，Elon Musk 曾經向 FTC 主動通知，但最後卻買了 9 %， FTC 正在調查是否 Elon Musk 有試圖利用法律對純投資目的審查豁免來進行併購。

如果 FTC 發現該購入 9 %股份的通報遺漏是偶然的，那麼它通常不會採取行動；但如果是故意或是反覆發生，那麼 FTC 可以要求每天罰處 43,792 美元的罰鍰。

但除此之外， 民主黨的 FTC 主席琳娜·汗（Lina Khan）過去所屬的民間反壟斷組織，已開始督促各單位阻止這筆交易，原因是他們認為這將使得 Elon Musk 能對言論自由有操控權，理由是他還握有 Starlink 、SpaceX 等巨大商業公司，並向烏克蘭等地方提供網際網路服務。

而在前日，眾議院共和黨的意願要求 Lina Khan 真對公開始市場對於 Elon Musk 收購 Twitter 的聲明採取行動，並且該民間反壟斷組織正在透過對琳娜·汗日前的交情，來避免 Elon Musk 式的自由線上言論成為事實。當前 FTC 拒絕對此案與民間團體的要求做出任何回應。
